So my son has about 40.00 or so and he just sold his seldom used Gameboy Advance SP and we used the money to buy him a DWL-810+ ethernet to wireless bridge.

Anyhow he is going to get some Live games with his 40.00 and my question is basically if many people still play the older Live games as we are thinking of having him get the following:

Mech Assault
Unreal Championship
Whacked

Which comes out to just over 40.00

I don't want to get them however and then find out that everyone has migrated to newer games, I know when Rainbow Six 3 came out there were a lot less people playing Tides Of War (still a bunch though just not as many). At the same time maybe a lot of people are playing these games for the very same reason he will be (because they are dirt cheap).

I know I've read before that games jump up in sales a lot when they become Platinum Hits...

Thanks in advance.

Mechassault is still awesome and still lots of people on depending on time of day. In fact its better now than when i first got it cause they have new maps, gametypes, and mechs. The other two I don't own so can't speak for.

Good thing about Live and the games out.. pretty much no matter how old the game is, enough people are still playing it to have a worthwhile game at any given time.

A smiliar but different question (bascially because it involves live service). I have 2 months free right now and I'd like to download all the downloadable content they have on there, even for games I don't own yet (like Outlaw Volleyball, I rented it and liked it but I don't have the game yet). Is there a downloadable content section you can just go to or do you actually need to load up the game and select for it to download?

You need to load up the game for the content. No way to get it otherwise (expect for some content in OXM for Splinter Cell)

having only used xlink in the past, I decided to give live a try.

I got ahold of a 2 month trial, and bought a copy of midtown madness on the cheap, for 25 usd. (i love that game)

anyway, i was greeted by a bunch of 12 year olds yelling profanity and devising stupid ways to ruin the game.

I had no problems, thanks to shanafans guides. I have a chameleon, and used the evox script to disable it, and played fine online. It really isnt so hard to do, when you read and pay attention.

But, i was really surprised at how few games were being played... I think maybe 18 midtown madness servers? I somehow expected more, after hearing the claims of 500k people on with xbox live (total signups).

I really dont think live is all that its cracked up to be.

jz28, there are more games than Midtown Madness 3, heh. Also, don't play when the kiddies get home from school. Play later at night for a more mature but still fun gaming experience.
