have a problem reading disks in my philips drive, so gonna try a dvd lens cleaner first to see if that works. Do I need to buy a remote control for it to work, or will it run without? Its a modded box executer 2.1.

FYI, you could insert anything in the shape of a CD/DVD and the xbox will spin it up and try to read it.
