I'm having problems with the newest dash revision that came ALREADY INSTALLED (5659)
How do I downgrade my dash to the Live 1.0 dash? I read tutorials out there that say to do a backup of my old dash before upgrading. I never had any previous 4920 dash, and i'm not an Xbox Live subscriber either.. Is there any way around this? unsure.gif

i suggest finding someone with a old backup of their C. mine is pre-live and only around 60mb's. all you have to do after replacing your dash with mine would be to install live 1.0 on it.

appy save exploit (mechassault or 007) to have ftp access

and then backup your c partition
get slayer's evox auto Installer 2.5
in this slayer's installer you ll find a folder c, containing ms dashboard 4920

so basically, after the backup of your c, delete all its content, and copy the c provided in slayer s installer

I've read that you need your original xboxdash.xbe file for the xbox to operate correctly, because every original dash has their own signature for that machine, unless you have a modchip.. Is my old xboxdash file compatible?...Or can i delete that too?

i'm not 100% sure on if you need YOUR own xboxdash.xbe file. i know that i have given mine to a friend that lost his and it worked fine.

Just took a chance with it...SUCCESS!!

Used the audio exploit to flash my tsop...thanks for the help guys.
