Soo Confused- Mechassault, 007 Exploit, exploit help Options

I am a Noob that has done considerable reading and still can't come up with a concrete answer . I think I find one and then I find something to contridict it.

I am looking to mod my Xbox and would like to use the Mechassault or 007 save to make it possibile to play "backed up " copies on Dvd-r on my box.

Question is can I follow Mad Gouki's tut and acheive this ? Do I have to flash Tsop along with game save?
In Gouki's tut he goes on to say that you can't play "backed up " games until you have ....
"Next lets talk about xbe signing... without it you arent playing anything"
Do I have to do xbe signing ? and if not am I ready to go ?

If so what is benefit to flashing Tsop as mentioned in a great "how to " thread in this forum ?

i started out with the 007 glitch soo..ill just tell u what i did ;p

rent 007
find the hacked gamesave
use a action replay or use a memory card and make your own to transver save to xbox
go the the xbox dashboard go to your memory card and transver it to your xbox
put in 007 and load the save when that happens youll see evox boot up
now u have to find the pheonix file i dont know if its illegal so ill just let ya find it ;p
in the downloaded file transver everything cept ffffe0000 (something like that) to your e drive
then go into data cant remember which one and copy the ffffe0000 file over it
make sure our ip is on dhcp not static
reboot xbox put in an audio cd select music copy copy ok then phenix will boot up


this wont work if u have the new xbox live dash...u might be able to find some1 thatll give u there C drive but itll be hard ;0

I really am not having any trouble understanding the" How to" I am not sure of the end result .
Drop and playing Dvd-r back ups is my goal, no disk swap no drive loading to play etc...
