Slayer 2.5 And Upgrading Box's, box has never had slayers on it. Options

I just installed a chameleon in my xbox and used slayers v2.5 to install everything. My friend also has a modded x-box and whoever did it for him did not use slayers. He wanted some of the applications that I have on mine. I Upgraded his system using slayers and i selected to inst/upgrd XMP and APPS only. everything seemed to work ok at first but now He can not select his media player and it will not let him play dvd's when he puts them into his drive. Also When he ripped a DVD onto his system it took lik 3 hours. Any suggestions?

I was thinking about installing evox on his system from slayers. Would that change anything? is slayers .ini file different than one done without it? Any help would be great.
