Im not too much of a newbie in setting up a server. I set up an FTP server and it's basically the same I think. Well, Im having a difficult time in setting up the Relax proggie to work with the Xbox through a router. In my config.xml for xbmp, this is what ive tried

1. Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (router ip)
xns:\C:Videos@192.168.1.1:1400
xns:\C:Videos@192.168.1.1

2. Gateway: 192.168.1.100 (pc ip)
xns:\C:videos@192.168.1.100:1400
xns:\C:videos@192.168.1.100

3. Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (router ip)
xns:\192.168.1.100@**.***.**.***:1400 (***indicates personal internet ip)
xns:\192.168.1.100@**.***.**.***

I have enabled port forwarding on the router to forward port 1400 to my computer when I use the three setups with :1400. With each setup, i get as far as logging in. Then I look on the Debug Log and it says dissconnected. On my xbox, I see nothing....

Can someone help please?

Where are you putting all that information? I don't see anywhere in my config.xml file where I have to insert information like that. My setup works fine through the router.

This is my <local> part

<local>
<!-- remove the asterisks to set local ip address and gateway statically -->
<address*>192.168.1.3</address*>
<subnet*>255.255.255.0</subnet*>
<gateway*>192.168.1.1</gateway*>
<nameserver>192.168.1.1</nameserver>
<playlists>$HOMEplaylists</playlists>
<timeserver*>207.46.248.43</timeserver*>

<cddbserver>194.97.4.18</cddbserver>
<thumbnails>$HOMEthumbs</thumbnails>
<bookmarks>$HOMEbookmarks</bookmarks>
<subtitles>$HOMEsubtitles</subtitles>
<cddb>$HOMEcddb</cddb>
<imdb>$HOMEimdb</imdb>
</local>

This is a share for Movies:

<videos>
<visible>true</visible>

<share>
<name>Server</name>
<url>f:movies@192.168.1.2</url>
<cachesize>8192</cachesize>
</share>
<share>
<name>barton</name>
<url>e:movies@192.168.1.10</url>
<cachesize>8192</cachesize>
</share>

<share>
<name>Xbox</name>
<url>f:movies</url>
<cachesize>8192</cachesize>
</share>

</videos>

Hope somehow that helps.

you have to open port 1400 on the router config menu for your pc local address. After that you will have to modify your config.xml and insert the ip.

example:

<music>
<visible>true</visible>
<share>
<name>Network (XNS)</name>
<url>d:music@192.168.0.136</url>
<cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>
