Has anyone had any success flashing the fake 2.3 chips?

I have already purchased a 2.3 lite then programmer and they are working fine.

However I have a fake 2.3 pro sitting on my desk next to me that I would like to sell to a friend and maybe get my money back that I lost.

Has anyone successfully flashed these fake chips or is the hot swap method the only way to do it.

Also I am not finding any detailed info on the hot swap method. If that is the only way to do it, a link to some valid info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I thought it was only the LPC method that was messed up.....can you just do it by making a Bios CD?

Honestly I have not tried yet because I figured I was wasting my time.

When I try to flash 4979 to it with the programmer it goes 100% the says "Error at 007d0". Not real sure of the number (address) but anyway it does not say successful.

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the fakes.

Geesh... I'd hate to have a friend like you...

But anyway... I'll help how I can..

Click to expand the modchips section and there's a hot swap guide somewhere in the top 10 or so entries...

Good luck
