Saw someone else post about it earlier, about their new MCPX heatsink, thought i'd show off mine a bit, let's hope not to get flamed for doing it either haha

that fan isnt gonna push much air with the extremely limited space below it, it is only gonna be really loud dont get me wrong it will help......but probably not noticably

it's a good idea. but the fan is going to be performing at around 10% of what it can do. find a 40mm fanheatsink (old school CPU fans for those who don't know) and that will give you alot better performance, and should fit within the clearance of the dvd drive

Yeh, i had this one laying around upstairs with a bunch of other stuff, mainly passive heatsinks, luckily i dont have the phillips with the large camel hump in the middle, but it's more of a safety net than anything else, as with the ram heatsinks

just sit the fan up a cm or 2, try and get it evenly spaced between the dvd drive and th emobo and it will make the fan work much beter and be much quieter also
