Ok... I somewhat finished the first few steps on my boxes today. The first one have a DVD window mod but i haven't cut the DVD yet but intend to do it sometime. I'm not sure about the picture under the jewel, but it can stay until i find something better since it gives a pretty nice glow... Ohh, and it's not gold.. it's copper. It looks much nicer in real life.. The flash on the camera screws it up a bit!

The second one has only got a 2 tone color mod. Dark, Dark purple metallic with beige/cream metallic... (not silver)... this one will get some lights and stuff at a later point...

Feedback appreciated...

try taking the cover off the DVD drive so u can see the disc spinning (unless u just play backups.. then just keep a game in the DVD rom drive to look cool laugh.gif )

Thnx guys.. Yeah, gonna do the DVD cutout too.... I've got some stencil spraying ideas of the copper tone one, but ill wait with that until i have some more money! I've got some plans to do something with it that i haven't seen before.. the 2 tone one will get a el wire or something.. im not gonna have a clear jewel on that one, but most likely an el wire running behind under the cover on the sides... here's another box we did this weekend.

It's my cousins box and it's sprayed in 'Brittish Racing Green' on the 'X' while the 'fins' and the rest is black since he wanted a quite discreet look. The jewel is clear and has got a round green CCD. Under the jewel, we put a bit of aluminum with a stencil of Charles Manson. The stencil was sprayed with the same purple that's on the dark dark purple box. and it looks really nice...

Yup, there mine. The copper one is a v1.0 that i got early 2002 and the other one is from september 03 or something.. v1.4 i think. The green box is my cousins but i did the jewel on that one... We also got some pics of when we modded the HD tray (cut it out to get better airflow...) might post it later...

Thank you alot guys for the positive feedback. forgot to tell you guys that the finger on the 'Simba Box Jewel' ain't mine.. it's my son's and he loved the simba pic... i got a BIT bigger fingers than that!

Don't know if this is interessting, but here's a few pics where we modded the HD tray from an excellent tip by 'FLuKE11' ... read more about it here....

Also, if anybody knows a good way to clean the plexi on the window without clouding it, i would appreciate to know. It's got a thin string of hot glue.. you know one of those silk like strings... Would appreciate any help...

Thnx man. I don't like simba either and was planning to have something stenciled on a bit of aluminum on this one as well, but i tried simba and it worked really really good since the picture is in red's as well as the ccd... worked out pretty good
