Is it save to lock a lockable HDD (mator 120) using evox 3935. The reason I ask is my HDD drive is full and I would hate to lose all the backups and music and videos. If someone has locked a full HDD a little feedback would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Yes it is safe to lock a HD.

The reason you are doing it for may be wrong. From what i can see you are trying to use it to protect yourself from loosing data. You can still loose your data on a HD even if it is locked sad.gif .

Hope that helps..

I am not trying to protect data. I resently obtained broadband internet and would like to play XBox Live games. When I installed the HDD I had no high speed internet and had no reason to use the XBox default operating system. Most of the forum discussion and guides to locking a hdd is based on the assumption that the hdd is a new install. For me this is not the case and wanted to make sure I wasn't going lose all my exsisting data.
