wanted to get avalaunch to work..

read on the how to that u should transfer everything from the avalaunch dir to the c: on the box, rename default.xbe to avalaunch.xbe and rename evoXdash.xbe to evox.xbe..

i flashed with the X2 4979.06 bios and after i did that stuff (above) it booted into the msdash !! had to use the evox bootcd to format drive and reinstall evox to get back in to evoxdash.

am i missing something here ?

(reason i wanna use avalunch is so i can xfer files from xbox to xbox..)

much appreciated smile.gif

If you only want to use avalaunch to transfer files, you can just use ava as an app. Just FTP your unrarred Avalaunch file to your Apps folder on your XBox.

also, lets say i already had my files on my box, and i did the same thing and it booted into the msdash, how would i be able to it so i dont have to use the evox bootcd and format the hdd again...

If it's not that complicated why can't you figure it out? wink.gif
Actually all you needed to do was get a evox or ava bootdisc and use that to enable FTP and rename the files back the way you wanted. Reformatting shouldn't have been needed to be done. Also if you are still interested in changing dash's I have a tutorial on my website in my sig. Alot of the stuff isn't back up yet what with all the versions changing and whatnot but the install guide is back up.

any application can be made to boot from cd/dvd as long as the main executable is called default.xbe

having ava multigame (or boot) disk is useful as it serves two purposes, you can put a game or few on it, and when you boot with it, you get an ftp server too, i just use MGDs instead of boot cd-rws etc now- saves having to write a boot disk every time you need one
