Ok, i have a wireless network setup. I have a switch plugged directly into my access point, and my access point connects to my router wirelessly. my router is then plugged into my modem through an ethernet cable of course. All my pc's connected to my switch work fine and dandy. My xbox however doesn't. I know my xbox is working finen, because i can plug it into the router directly and voila. The problem is the wireless network. I can set it to DHCP, and it pulls on the data. even the dns, but once it tries to actually connect it does nothing.

I hope someone could help me with this. I would really like to figure out the problem. wink.gif

What won't your xbox talk to? Your PC? Or over the internet? Or Both?

If it doesn't talk to anything- that's just weird because to receive dhcp info means your xbox was able to send and receive data...

If it's just over the internet, double check dns and router settings...

only thing that is odd, is that the router shows the dhcp lease of the xbox with no hostname. now this shouldn't make a difference, because it's mac specific.

i've also tried it on static with all the correct settings in place. still no luck.

ok, i have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router. It's 802.11g also. I have it connecting to my modem with an ethernet cable. I have one computer downstairs that is plugged directly into the router.

I have a linksys Wireless-G WAP54G AP upstairs. I have the AP set in client mode. Then I have a switch connected directly to the AP. My computer and the xbox are connected the switch.

The AP and router are not connected with an ethernet cable. Alot of ppl misunderstand that, i just want to paint a clear picture.

so the entire setup would follow like this:

modem------router~~~~~~AP------switch------comp/xbox

the dashes are ethernet, and the tilde (~) is wireless.

So that computer near the xbox, that gets online fine? and it uses dhcp? if so, if you shut off that computer and make sure the xbox uses dhcp does the xbox then work?
