i had to hot swap a friends xbox harddrive into my xbox because we messed it up with a exploit. i have the 2.5 sayers and i think im suppost to to click rebuild retail hd not sure am i right?

If you want to go back to factory setting, then yes, use the retail settings option. That will format drives C: & E: and reload dash 4920.
