ok i did THIS TUTORIAL successfully, and lol this is funny...in port 4 i have the on / off power modified to turn the xbox on and off from a controller. so i did this mod, and you know in doing this mod you have to connect 2 wires together in controller so i did that, port 1,2,3 work fine. then when i plug it into port 4 it shuts off the xbox (cuz of the modified on off port) now the good part...when plugging the on off controller into port 1,2, or 3 no light goes off...but if i press the on / off button on the controller the light blinks on my command...press button in and out and it blinks...its fucking sweet, and if i plug it into port 4 it turns off like normal.....anyone else ever did this? i have a video if anyone wants to see it but would need an ftp to upload it to and dont have enough to host the vid.....

peace

It makes sense to me that it work like that....the one with the switch only closes the circuit when the button is pressed, so it only turns the light on when you push the button.....the ones without the switch always have the circuit closed, so if you plug them into port 4, it's like you're pressing the power button. What's the big deal? If you want to set it up so you can have a port detection led and the power button on the same port, follow twisted's hardwired dvd dongle tutorial to use a relay to turn the light on and off, leaving the yellow wire free to do the on/off.

what's so great about that? All your doing is grounding the negative leg of the LED when you press the button. Not very cool imo.
