I think I out grew Scooby-doo, its a great cartoon, but seen em all. My fav cartoons now are Justice League and He-Man on Cartoon network, also X-Men Evolution on WB. Batman Beyond kicked major a$$, I am so bummed it was canceled. Same boat as Dark Angel, good shows gone over budget and met the axe.

Hmmm, my very FIRST computer was a commodore 64. It plugged into the back of the TV, and you loaded the carrtridges from the side. Space invaders rule!

/me is waiting for the first 14 year old to say Pentium was their first computer dry.gif

C64 was my 3rd or 4th computer, Tandy CoCo, Atari 400, Apple II, C64, C128, XT PC, 286-P4. Not mentioning all the consoles I had, Colecovision, Intellivision, Atari 2600/5400/7200 and so on...

Actually, the C64 was the first computer I had that used floppys, I was so amazed by how fast they were compared to casettes. Can you imagine waiting 1-1/2 hours for 1 game to load from casette, the whole time making an aweful screeching noise. Then play the game, die, and have to reload to play again. I remember The Last Starfighter being like that on my Atari 400... moon patrol, pooyan, pitfall, Jame Bond Moonraker.. sooo many fun games back then..

I wonder if kids who are 8 years old now will look back on the XBOX with such fond memories? What will games look like 30 years from now? Fully 3D holographic running on a 100 terabit optical chip the size of a transistor?

Well, they just released an updated version of "Defender" for the PS2.. I think it was IGN that had a little story about it.

While I do love the nostalgia of playing my old favorites, they still are exactly that. Example: I dont want to see space invaders 2004 on xbox. THe only game I would want re-done, would be Metroid baby! That we when she gets naked at the end, you could have live video action biggrin.gif

Im pretty sure its the same, c64/128- but I remember something that I think was an addon for the 64, the vic20? it played tapes that were games, regular cassette tapes. I remember plugging them into a stereo and hearing the worse sound ever, a high pitched eeeeeeeeeeeee
lol

the best game on the c64 was "transformers"/"ghost busters" and probably "the way of the exploding fist", and I guess "law of the the west" was rad too.

C64/128 were not the same, although they really never made much for the 128 to support the extras it had. I think the 128 had a 1571 floppy drive, which was better than the 1531 the C64 had. Taxing my brain trying to remember all the hardware parts back then. The Vic20 was a PC a few years before C64, so it was not an addon. You are correct about the tapes, that is exactly what they sounded like when loading. High pitch eeeeeeeeee, pause, eeeeeeeee, pause.. for an hour for a 20K game. Ghostbusters was a pretty fun game on C64. Got pretty frustrating though if I remember right.
