After reading a post from ZedDedd, I tried out his method of running Crimson Skies, and it works like a charm. biggrin.gif All you need is is Evox 3682 and run it as an app, which means renaming the "evoxdash.xbe" to "default.xbe". This will show up as RemoteX under the apps menu. So, everythime you want to run Crimson Skies, off HD or disk, just run RemoteX and load up the game. Happy flying ladies!!! laugh.gif

FYI, I am running the audioexploit, with bios 4977 with Avalaunch.

That's probably an unrelated-problem, probably caused by a bad backup.

Good to see this has worked for someone else. I added a question about it in the Evox forum http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=185435 but no replies. Also, why couldn't any other dashes (unleashX, Avalaunch, MXM, etc.) run it? And could/would they "fix" it?

As far as the dirty disc problem, nailed is right. Could be your original media, how you backed it up, the backup media, etc.. I had a philiips, and couldn't get DeusEx2 to play all the way through. Got a new box w/Sammy, and worked fine.

By the way, with the regular dashes different things with the game happen under different circumstances. From what I recall, with the original disk you could get so far, I think past the training level. With the M7 bfm bios you get a little farther in CS than w/ X2 bfm bios. In some cases the spinning disk doesn't get it's spin blades and freezes, and another case you get to where you go to get your plane in the big john level and thats it. Thats as far as I have got with the regular dashboards.

Something else, if you use the default skin on the new Evox, you will see the M$ metal ball loop endlessly when trying to start the game.

So... it does work with PBL (at least for a couple of us): Crimson Skies Works Pbl!, Here’s the simple "quick fix". No one has replied it doesn't (yet).....

I flashed my tsop so I can't test this anymore, but here was what I saw :

I always ran Crimson Skies from the hard drive.. I used PBL 1.3.5i, 4981, and UnleashX as the dashboard (no evox!) It locked up on the loading screen

So whatever problem evox latest has, UnleashX also has.

anyway once i flashed my tsop I ran the same c.s. off my hard drive and it works perfectly
