I have had my v1.5 xbox for roughly 5 months and i just got the ends to purchase a modchip. This is my second xbox and second modchip, i dont know how to solder, im a noob, but my first chip was pogopin as well and worked fine. Anyway, the issue at hand is as follows:

I opened xbox
Installed chip and got blue / green led's lit up correctly
Used CD BIOS Method with 4973 on 2 spots as 512kb and a dummy file but when the CD went in it just froze, so i let it sit for a minute then decided to turn off the xbox.
I turned it back on, got the same screen as before, the dvd drive opened normally, inserted disk again and it froze once more.
Now I can't boot up the xbox with or without the modchip installed as i get the fragging either way.

My d0 got a little damaged, dunno how bad it is, and the metal lines (tracers?) might be scratched, i dont know though cuz i can't see it well enough cuz its so small.

What do you guys suggest me doing to get my xbox up and running again or is it a better idea (cheaper) to just buy a new one?

Yes you have broke a trace! That is why it wont boot when the chip if off. Af for the flashing you were saved another $15 buy it not flashing wiht 4973. You need to read you have a 1.5 this means you need new bios 4981.06 you would have got a frag if you would have used those old bios/
