Just in case you've been wondering.. this has nothing to do with making a frankenstein themed xbox.

i was just wondering if i could assemble an xbox whereby the parts come from various sources. Ie: Hd from ebay, motherboard from llamma, friend gave me a dvd drive... u get the picture. smile.gif
So the qn is: by assembling all these "stranger" parts together, will the xbox function as normal? or do i have to do additional configs.. OR it would not work at all?

thanks in advance!

It would prolly work (provided that the parts all work) but i think that the HDD has to be locked with a key that is unique to each xbox so u might have to use a modchip to relock him properly on the Franken-box. Dont quote me on this though.

hmm im thinking it would work. but yea if the HDD isnt a stock xbox one. you would have to have a modchip and load evox onto the HDD. and u would probably have to do some configs with the dvd drive unless its stock. your probably better off in the general hardware/tech chat forum.

As long as you buy a HDD/mobo combo it will definately work smile.gif. If you want a bigger HDD then you need a modchip but it would still work fine:). Make sure you get the right PSU for the mobo tho.

That's what Im working on at this moment, Im waiting for a mobo right now. I had to get a new hdd because i fried the other, and a new mobo. And now the only real thing left is the case (gonna replace) and the dvd.
