So I sent my XBox off to be modded and I'm waiting for it to come back and still need to buy a DVD burner and was wondering does DVD+ or DVD- make a difference when backing up games? Or do both work the same when you put them in your XBox?

just buy a burner that burns all formats (dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw) that way you can test them all. but try dvd-r first.

Yup, most burners support both formats but I prefer -R over +R. A quality -R disc (ie Ritek or Taiyo Yuden) will be compatible with all 3 DVD Drives and it is a little bit cheaper. If you ever get a Sammy then you will definitely want -R. Some have gotten +R to work but it is dependant on the burner and the booktype (that doesn't always work out either).

Yep, stick with -R. Burnt 30+ multigames on DVD-R and all work flawlessly. Tried +R. It was kind of hit and miss with different media. Have LG 4040B.

I got a hp300I dvd burner, it is a dvd+r/+rw only. ( it was given to me) works perfect for all my dvd movies and xbox back ups. But I do agree a dual format is the way to go, and the -r media is cheaper and works the same.
