Hello

I am looking to buy a new 120GB Hard Drive for my box but am wondering if there are any brands to avoid? I am think of a Maxtor at the moment but was wanting to check if they are ok to use

Yeah Maxtor should be fine

I've used Seagate in all my installs. there cheap and lockable.

Personal choice: Seagate Barracuda. Very, very quiet (possibly the quietest drive I've never heard) and usually lockable (although if not using MS Live, don't bother - that way you can recover the drive if anything happens to yr box).
Supposedly run cooler too.

yeah, go with sea gate, maxtor, and i have heard that western digitals work good, i beleive (someone correct me if im wrong), you want a 7200 rpm, 8mb or larger cache, and if you want my opinion, go with a 200+ gb hdd, 120 is a lot, but if your a heavy gamer it runs out quick, it took me 4 days to fill up a 80gb hdd and a 120 wouldnt take to much longer. just a suggestion
