Best solderless would most likely be the x-bit, ive never heard anything but good about its solderless, but if you want a newer chip then get the xenium with solderless adapter.
Also if you read the rules you shouldnt actually have asked this question, and it would have been better to post in the alternative modchips forum as you're only going to attract xecuter fans posting in this forum. Either way, x-bit or xenium with adapter would be your best bet. This post has been edited by Morglum: Mar 30 2004, 12:35 PM |

You should research more. My opinion would be to get the chameleon solderless adapter. They are cheap and you can fit any LPC based mod on to it. They are a little easier to play with than mods with pogo pins already connected. However do not be fooled into thinking solderless is easy. Yes it is easy for people with experience - but then if you had that you would probably solder. The majority of people posting problems with ANY mod make is the solderless version |

Simple question: Which Modchip is THE BEST, regardless of price. I mean which outperforms all the others in every category? And what are the pros and cons of solderless vs. solder?

ok, look, you caught me in a good mood so i wont bitch to you about it, but others are gonna flame you bad for this, people hate it when you ask what is the best chip, there is a faq, search button, mod chip comparison chart on xbox-scene.com, and tons and tons of other people ask this, DO SOME RESEARCH AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND!!!!!!

Do any of you think Xecutor3 is worth the wait? Im on hte market for a modchip and have been advised that the Xecutor Lite + is the best way to go but since the Xecutor3 is coming out soon, I don't know whether or not it's worth the wait. Also, I'd like to know how it's better than the previous generation?

Do a search and look around. This didnt need another topic. Buy a 2.3B now and get the 3 in a year when it comes out. (It is going to take forever to come out.)

Unlike most of you, I actually HAVE a life, ok? I really don't have the time to sit here and learn all the terminology listed in the comparisons. I dont even know what half of it means! That's why I posted my question, to simply ask for a few more opinions and increase my knowledge of the subject.

Well, to summarize all the other posts that ask this same question, the answer is NONE. There is simply no single chip that is considered THE BEST. There are many chips out there and there are many good ones. The problem is that all of them work. They will all perform the function that they are designed to do. However, some have some features that other don't and others have features that still others don't. The fact that you recognize that there are soldered type and solderless types tells me that you realize this fact. Soldered types are more difficult to install, but are more stable. Solderless types are easier to install, but cost more and might come loose. Both work, but neither is better than the other. You should realize that there are many methods of modding, including several that don't even involve a chip at all.
Any chip you buy will work fine regardless of whether it is the newest chip or not. For example, the chip I have is a Matrix chip. There have since been many newer chips made since I bought my chip, but I have not needed to upgrade simply because there is no reason to. The chip works the same now as when I originally bought it. Therefore, the reason you won't get a straight answer is because no answer would be correct. That is why everyone is telling you to do some research and decide for yourself. |
