Hey guys I wanted to do a case mod and install 1 of those round cold cathode fan lights... It has an attached molex connect and an inverter for easy install so I put a splitter in my xbox on the power supply cord (that goes to a HDD) so as to have a lead to plug the light into... I have a 160 gig WD HDD installed on a version 5 xbox... The only case mod I have done is this light and when it is turned on the xbox will fail to boot when the mod chip is on AND off...almost like their is too much of a power drain on the HDD... Is it that the xbox power connector going to the HDD doesn't have the capacity to add additional devices??? This is really weird...
