I think I've got it all installed correctly. I suspect that I'm using the wrong bios. I'm using x2.4983 with pbl1.4 and bigfonts. After the xbox splash screen, the screen flickers for a second as though it is loading the new bios, then the screen goes black. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What kind of videocable do you use? Also what is the kernel version of the xbox?

are you using the Boot from media version of the bios?
did you ever succeded with an other bios?
if not, what's your kernel version?

video cable = MS with svideo

I've tried evoxm7, as well as x2.4981 and x2.4983. None of which were BFM bioses. I changed the system over to 1.3.5i pbl and now I see the pheonix logo, and then it goes black. not sure of the kernel at the moment, but its an old box. no fonts folder.

okay you cannot use s-video on pbl 1.4/.1 so you would have to use pbl 1.3.5. You should be fine on the kernel version. The problem probably is cuz you're not using bootable from media biosses. Make sure the bios is a 1mb bfm bios.
