alrite its been great till now. everythings been beatable. till now. warning, spoilers***

so anyways, im heading out of the egyptian tomb thing, and into the middle of the church, and BAM the weird purple alien chick flies in and beats the crap out of me. i have a total of 2 full-heal potions, lev3 sword, lev 1 flail, windmill shurukens and the exploding shurukens. how do you kill this thing? reading a walkthrough, it says i can go back into the library and kill all the enemies, and get another ninpo (which are apparently effective for this fight). so i go and do that, and poof i got another ninpo. big deal. run out to the altar, she comes in, charges with one move and im dead (i begin at half life). if i potion first, i can take one big hit, then hafta heal. best ive done is taken down perhaps 1 inch of her life from doing the sparrow hit thing. thats it. WTF...help plz

edit: oh yeah, is there a place to save after i get the extra ninpo? cuz i cant go back to the previous one (water filled it up), and i cant leave the church (door "mysteriousy" held shut). its annoying to spend all that time killing a zillion enemies, earn the extra ninpo, then get killed and hafta do it all over again... dry.gif

She's actually one of the harder bosses in the game.

You want to stay away from being directly under her, because she will release her most devastating attack, where she beems you up and beat the shit out of you.

The key, dodging her projectile attacks such as the rocks and those power ball things. After dodging those, just do the jump slash attack ( Y ) with the dragon sword, until she falls. When she falls, power up the ninpo attack (the one that surrounds you with fire balls) and then release some devastating combos while your ninpo is also burning her.

When you get the hang of dodging her attacks, she wouldn't be all that hard. After a couple tries I ended up beating her by using 1 greater potion, 1 small potion and 1 small ninpo potion.

I actually I'm having the opposite problem you have. Throughout the game I've been over equipped, I get pissed off because I have to leave potions behind since I'm holding my max supply of them.

Yeh Master chief has nailed it with his tips.
My only difference is a use the ICE ninpo on her instead.. they key is to be patient, i took nearly 10 mins to defeat her.. just keep running in one direction when she fires her purple fireballs and repeat with the pillars only jump with these to make sure you dodge them.. watch out for her swooping attack and as long as you take your time and always use the jump and Y attack you will defeat her. As masterchief stated stay away from underneath her,, he tractor beam type attack rips most of your energy off.. stay patient and you will do it.

I had some security tho and reached her with 8 health refills, souped up ice magic and about 6 ninpo refills. i did only use 1 health refill and a few ninpos tho.

Did take me about 6-7 goes!

Be patient and pick your moments!

ok thanks guys. i got it after what, 12 tries? and i didndt bother getting that extra ninpo thing...maybe i should...

after so many tries, i learned to keep distance to avoid that really, really annoying purple beam+kick thing that nearly kills you. the sparrow hit thing took her down twice i think...then give her some good wacks...using inferno i found helpful too. the temporary invincibility saved me from dying from those pink fireballs, and the fireball you shoot took her down as well biggrin.gif wow that was hard....

Yeah, Alma beat the living hell out of me the first time -- and it was like I was resurrected, and she beat the shit out of me again later on in the game *ha* talk about having bad luck!!!

Anyway, it was worth it . . . both of the cutscenes were beautifully rendered. . .

Alma, the first time around, was definently the most diffucult boss for me; i forgot to level up my sword to 3, it was only at 2. The second time around, Alma was a piece of cake; as well as the rest of the bosses. NG became quite easy after her; when i made sure all my stuff was leveled to the max. I hope very hard provides more of a challange. On normal, NG was definently no NES ghost n' goblins difficulty.
