Man The Music Still Jams ! I Love Features From The tHc And From The Lite, Like Said Above We Should Be Able To Chose The Menus Like In The First tHc. Hit B To Turn Off, Start The Visualizer From Anywere Like The Music.

I Would Be A Happy Just If The Music Would Not Jam Jam Jam Jam Jam Jam Jam Lol Thats what Happens After 30 Mins Of Music.

But Still Great Job Guys ! I Respect Your Work !

QUOTE (vintster @ Apr 22 2004, 11:38 PM)

There's a workaround for the lockup problem that makes the original much more friendly to use.  All credits go to SSChevy on this one  biggrin.gif

30min freeze workaround

Xtrem, did you read the workaround for the freezing issue?

I perfer the original. However, I do like the way the animation for intro and the music are designed. It's sweet as hell. But I think that the original gives me more flexability as far as setting up goes as well as menu tabs. Until there are some really good code snips that will allow me to do some more customizing, i'll stick with OG. But lite is still kick ass..

sadly, this topic will only go one way -> towards original.
Just because only the people who are disatisfied with LITE and feel strongly will be bothered to post.
LITE may have reduced "flexibility" but its opened the dash up to a whole new audiance and made it far more user-friendly.
if you look at xd.net, since lite came out over 100 more users log on everyday, not register - log on.
That means they've become regular users of the site; they take advantage of downloads, tutorials etc. Thats a lot more people using tHc.

No matter how you argue, the bigger the audiance the more people get to enjoy a great dash.
Maybe in the future, we'll find a happier medium, where its easy to configure for new people and powerful for the more ept. Thats a difficult balance to reach though, and lets face it; you don't really need to change the tabs.

I understand that LITE has brought in a whole new group of poeple, but ii mean, lets face it, this never really was a dash for n00bs to begin with. And if they acutally researched when trying to use the first tHc dash then they would see how much more flexible the first was and would probably feel the same as us. I'm not saying that LITE is horrible, i do have it on my xbox, but the original is the one my xbox boots up to still. Really, easying skinning is the only advantage i see using LITE. Sure OEM it has the no resign and everything else, but you can download fuckdb's patches and make the original the same. I do like the new visualizations however. Sure whe dont really need to change the tabs, but why have tabs there that are obsolete due to the music manager and just plain no one going into gamesaves everytime you start up the xbox. I think that its fairly safe to assume that more then 95% of the people who have a modded xbox go to the Games/Applications/Emulators menu far more then the Music/Game Saves menu. Its more a matter of ease because the game, application, and emulator menus are used more then the music and game save menu. Add features, dont take features away.

Also, although skinning is significantly easier in LITE, those running the windows 98 OS will inexorably run into the "Error. An unknown error occured" problem running Hexbe on 98 when attempting to patch the .xbe with the .xbp, so skinning still isnt entirely possible for all those out there. Finally, it was really nice being able to press B and have the option to turn off the xbox, which is absent in LITE. I apologize if i seem like i'm complaing to much, because i understand what its like to make something your completely proud of, and not have everyone have the feeling towards it. Its just that theres to much i miss from the original.

If it weren't for lite I wouldn't have used the THc dash at all..or it would've taken me a lot longer to get into it(I always liked the look/skins).
I haven't used the original, but it just comes down to one being more flexible yet harder to configure, and the other being a little less flexible with much easier configuration and added(also removed) features.
I'm really liking lite, and I think it just blows every single other dash away. i do, however, have to agree with some of the people here on that it'd be better if you could change the initial tabs --> music/memory and move them into the settings section and have something like al games, emulators, hard drive, and settings type set up, where settings has both the music/and memory sub setting.
these things don't really bother me now, but it would be nice to inlude some flexibility on the initial tabs in a future version of Lite.

all taht aside, this dash is just too great and i'd take it over the original simply for the ease of configuring and everything else. i don't like to put tooo much time into things, and the little things that lite is missing from what the original has doesn't mean all that much right now.
i can't wait for the final release!

Original all the way. Sure, lite is nice but way to simple. Too many little things like how the main menu scrolls up and down slower than the original one. Splinter cell 2 or MemoryX? Decisions....decisions. The soundtrack feature is nice but who really needs that anyway? Xbmc sounds so much better with songs since it will do output to all speakers. Thats my two cents.

Lite is the fooking business! cool.gif
I have tried everything else, and all I want is a cool dash replacement for the original.
I might even ditch Evox for this baby!
THc Lite - ohhh, yesss. wink.gif

I agree wholly with FoxRacR17. I don't think I could have said it any better. And thanks vintster, I've been looking for that thread for a while.

FlashKick - brilliant. I think that sums up this entire topic.
Sure, LITE could do with some extra features, but overall - who cares anyway. there'll be more stuff for future versions if they ever come out, and lite has helped a lot of people use this dash.

And to people who try to keep this topic going, complaining about lite...don't be silly. saying you prefer v.1 isn't going to make you anymore "hardcore" at all...

so stop posting and get on with enjoying a great dash. if anyone wants to add code to lite to get those features in, why not!?
