I am looking to light up the top of my xbox case with some 5mm led white 8000 mcd leds. I want to keep the metal shielding underneath the plastic....does anyone know if the 5mm leds will fit between the top plastic and metal shielding?

Also, does anyone know how much heat the white 8000mcd might produce?

Thanks,
-Dman

your best bet might be just to remove the metal shieding, it doesnt do much, if you leave it in though the leds should fit, just make sure metal doesnt touch metal

Normally I would, but I have a Crystal case and the metal shielding gives it a cool effect. There's even a 5mm Led with 12000 mcd. I was going to put those in but I am worried that they might put out some unwanted heat.

they don't put off much heat, and besides, if you leave the metal shield in there, it will act as a heat sink...

I would just go for it! beerchug.gif

Probably not going to fit. I would just go with 3mm. Besides, why the hell do you need 8000 or 12000 mcd? You trying to light the room?

I had 5mm LEDs and a pieced of diamond plate under there but i also removed the shield however the shields is much thinner than diamond plate it might b a touch deformed but it should work.
