After the matrix is installed and then the xbox is booted up should you see the orginal xbox dashboard or the one installed on the matrix or what?

any help is thankful.....

The Matrix itself does not have a dash on it, just a ROM.

If you want to use another dash (eg EvolutionX) then you need to put this on a CD-R/W or install it to the HDD.

If you burn it properly to a CD-RW or like media the evox dashboard will load. You can then FTP to the xbox and redo the .ini as you see fit and what not. Installed under c:

also you have to flash the matrix with a BIOS. If you didn't already know that.

all done xbox will not read media..
