my friend's electricians messed up the power or something and all his electronics were ruined. He's getting a new xbox, so i asked for the old one. Is there anything useful to do with it? I could always paint the case, but would everything be ruined like the dvd-rom/harddrive? i also have an xbox and a modchip, but im waiting for someone to solder it. is it worth practicing soldering on his ruined xbox, so i could solder on my own?

the old xbox can probably work with a different power supply or probably just needs a changed fuse.
