Smoke is never good and I really dont know of a place that has a lot of spare parts for xbox's. Power runs rampent through there and if it has a connection any place where is should not there is a good chance that you fudged it up. You can try and contact an Xbox Mod-installer and ask their for info

-Updating situation

Powers up for about 1 sec
Turns off
Turn back on
Chipset istantly hits like 100+ degrees
I unplug it so the chip dont die (if it isnt already)

Im think it would be a bad resistor or solder splash but I haven't seen anything wrong with the board

Again any help apprectiated

Thanks

you should not be worried so much about heat because it will surprise you how hot your CPU and GPU get and probably the same goes for that nVidia MCPX X3 chipset.

Who let the smoke out, who, who, who !!!!!!
Once the smoke is out of the box you need to go back to the
tee pee, do a smoke dance and summon the smoke gods to reinject the smoke back......Sometimes you get lucky depends on how much smoke you let out....... biggrin.gif

You see I just have really really bad luck and im screwed wherever I look. it started with my TV taking a shit then my monitor starting aflame, now my GPU is dead,(what i go blind next?) I have no money, no credit card for ebay and im stuck with a door stop and two boat anchors, a 19" POS tv wich is really a securty monitor, and a tiny 14" monitor thats older then dick clark

Now what?

"I need to find a darkened corner,
A darkened corner, A blackless corner
where its safer and calmer."
