ok i want to take a USB extension cable. cut it in half and take the wires at the female end and solder thoes to the wires of the same color on the xbox plug that goes into the xbox to make a USB adaptor.

i just need to know if it is the same color i should solder them to. because i dont want to shortout my xbox or keyboard.

please only post if you know. i dont want to ruin anything.

Yep, that's how you do it. There just won't be a yellow wire in the usb, so ignore that wire on the controller port.

alright thanks... but i have one more question....

if i take the controller end and solder the wires to the male end of the extension cable and get the drivers can i use that as an action replay?

and if so will i be able to take the controller and plug that male end into the female usb plug on the xbox and use the controller to play a game?

I dunno about the action replay deal. However it would still work as a controller but
Why don't you do this... Rather than cutting the end of off the controller cord, splice the male end of the usb cable into the wires of the cord itself. that way you win either way...

hm.. i might try that.. but the main thing i wanted to know was that the wires are the same color code... so nothing shorts out on me.

i have one more idea... what if i was to take a 4 port USB hub and connect the wires off the main cable to the controller? would all 4 ports on the hub work through that one controller plug connection?

Yeah, the controller actually has a usb hub in it, technically. That's how the memory card slots work. So, yes, you could wire in a usb hub and have all four ports work in linux or whatever.
