ok i want to take a USB extension cable. cut it in half and take the wires at the female end and solder thoes to the wires of the same color on the xbox plug that goes into the xbox to make a USB adaptor.
i just need to know if it is the same color i should solder them to. because i dont want to shortout my xbox or keyboard.
please only post if you know. i dont want to ruin anything.

I dunno about the action replay deal. However it would still work as a controller but Why don't you do this... Rather than cutting the end of off the controller cord, splice the male end of the usb cable into the wires of the cord itself. that way you win either way...

i have one more idea... what if i was to take a 4 port USB hub and connect the wires off the main cable to the controller? would all 4 ports on the hub work through that one controller plug connection?

Yeah, the controller actually has a usb hub in it, technically. That's how the memory card slots work. So, yes, you could wire in a usb hub and have all four ports work in linux or whatever.
