I'm helping mod a friends box, and I got the chip in fine. It's running a colored m7.
When I try to boot into slayers evox 2.5 with the brand 200gb western digital drive is creates all kinds of funny noises on boot-up and fails to do anything productive.

Is it possibly locked? Merely screwed up?

My friend bought 2 on ebay for him and a friend. We are going to test out the second harddrive and make see if it works.

Any suggestions?

Tried it in a PC, it didn't even read it.

You would first have to partition and reformat it on your PC.

Do so to test it, and surface scan the entire drive to check it out.

The PC wouldn't even recognize the harddrive as new hardware to format it at all.

then return it for a replacement, that definately sounds like a defective drive.
