I loaded the pheonix files to my friends box, but its scrambled!!! I dont get it! I did the same steps that I always do. I've installed those files on three boxes with no problem. Is there a file that is clashing? The dashboard must work because I could see part of the screen and I powered off using the controler. Why is it scrambled???!!!

click the search button. there are many posts about the scrambled video. your friends box is probably kernel 5101+ w/ the focus video chip. this causes the video to be scrambled. get a hold of PBL 1.4 and put that on. that will fix the scrambled video problem.

pbl is the bios loader that actually bootingh a new bios into your xbox. Since the xbox you are trying to mod aparantly is a newer kind and has a new video chip you will have to boot a bios that can handle that. optionally you can use a newer pbl also so that the bootup isn't scrambled too

PBL is the Phoenix Bios Loader - what you already tried uploading to your friends xbox.
Krayzie is suggesting to get a newer version that supports the Focus video chip in some xbox's as well as a bios that supports it. You get this at 'the usual places'. Have a look here

No offense but I don't think you should be softmodding your friend's box if you don't even know what PBL is. You need to read a little more. This exact problem has been answered many many times. sad.gif You need PBL 1.4.1 by Gueux. You can find it under bios and then bios tools I think.
