As shown on the xbox-scene front page, the neo group is trying to find the xbox private key. This will allow the running of programs on un-modded machines. All you have to do is install a program on your computer that runs behind the scene if you wish it so. The program can be set to use ONLY the amount of cpu power that your computer isn't using! So basically, no slowdown in computer power for you. I set it to use 100% of my unused cpu power. Let's all unite together in this and give something back to the scene. Let's show MS that it can NOT stand in our way! Tell everyone you know about this. Install it on your friends pc's, at libraries and anywhere else you want! there's an option for it to run hidden.

Download the program here:
http://downloads.xbox-scene.net/Templates/.../neo600full.zip

Once you run it, in a drop down menu at the bottom, choose "xbox public key challenge".

Show me and everyone else what you've got! I want every one of you to do this. I'm sure you will. Good luck to all. Let us pray that this will happen. It's time once again for us to assert our power. MS had gained the upperhand with XBOX LIVE, but let's show it that we don't need modchips to use their service. Power to the People!

Peace

Well I haven't recently done the math, but at the time it was estimated that if every computer that existed on the planet at the time were to be run 100% dedicated to cracking the 2048bit RSA, it would take well beyond our lifespan before we brute forced the private key. Of course this didn't take into account increases in processing ability, more computers etc... Other ways of shortcutting the decryption were found that made the neoproject pointless as it used a fairly archaic way of deciphering( it basically just created a key and tried it, then moved onto the next one and tried that....etc). Instead of rewriting the decryption code, there were greater advances made in modchips and softmods that made this an unnecessary endeavour.
