I have an xbox that im installing a large HD in for a friend, and putting on all the progs such as dvdx, etc.

Now I've done a few of these and has no problems, but this one has a real cheap chip in it that a shop installed. WHen you try to run a prog from the dash, the xbox simply locks up.

I know it is the chip, because I tried evox and avalaunch, and even plugged in my 120gig drive, and all did the same.

Any ideas people?

I know it is the chip,

Well you have answered your own question there. If "You know its the chip" then replace it.

My own opinion but this is a guess from a distance, is you should re-flash the chip with a different Bios. If it has M7 then try the latest Xecuter bios firstor check the ini file in evox is set up correctly how you want it. I don't know what chip you have but I don't think it is the chip
