hey everyone,
i have some docs on a floppy, but for some reason my pc wont open it, i was wondering if anyone has a suggestion to recover the files, i dont want to pay for a program, thanks everyone

xp just says that there is no disk in the drive,

i know there are files on there, because i have found some software that shows the files, but i cant recover them unless i pay like $50

If XP isn't recognizing the disk, how could this software scan it for files?

You need to explain what's going wrong more clearly. Is XP showing it as a blank disk?

did you accidently turn the write protection thing on (the little switch so you cant write or access the disk, it keeps people from reformatting them)?

look for a little tab, with some sort of lock, unlock symbol and then try switching it

when i would click on the drive, xp would say to insert a disk. but the disk was already in there.

anyways i used the program badcopy to recover the files, it worked great
