ok, so i used to have the problem with the really high pithed, load and annoying fan noise coming from my DVD R, but ok, i think i fixed it... and it used to not be able to open the rom, but i fixed that.... i dont know how... but i did

but now it makes a lower noise, which is better, and it opens the rom... but something is wrong... the DVD R was dented in, you see i got this box from a friend who needed help.. and i thought i could fix it, a little 'Dust OFF' and a little cleaning, VUALLA! but no, thisis hell, i have been trying to get the dent off of the DVD R, but i cant... i got it slimmined a little... and that is what made the rom open and close, and do everything on command, and then almost read discs.... but i dont know... i hope i can fix this...

i really dont want to buy a new DVD rom, but if i have to... i guess i have to, someone help, if any exp on these things... you dont even have to know anythign really, just about the Lens and what not... the laser will not read discs correctly, ony like 20% of the time... HELP
