OK been messing around with many new dashboards as i got bored with Evo X.
Evo X is my primary boot up dash but installed others in apps to play with and tonight was playing with Avalaunch and in the settings part i ticked yes on HDD lock i then rebooted the xbox to find my worst nightmare (yes the your xbox needs servicing message).
I have since booted with an evo x boot disc which loads but when you check the hdd all the partitions are showing as 0 bytes. Is there anyway round this without losing all the data i had on the drive???
what if i make a Avalaunch boot disc and try to unlock drive that way will or work or cause more damage???

please please help me....

something else i forgot to mention is that i took a backup of my c: earlier and in the back folder i have this info will it help?

Disk Serial Number : "WD-WMA8E4422517"
Disk Model Number : "WDC WD800JB-00CRA1 "
HDD Key : 6d:5f:72:d3:8c:25:80:1a
9e:df:1e:33:94:a6:98:58
c4:72:8e:12:00:00:00:00
00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00

1 thing i have done since this went wrong is upgrade the bios to Evox d.6 since it has never actually been flashed since i bought the machine......

I have my orginal drive in the cupboard still if i need to use that for doing anything to the machine to fix the broken drive.

Take that 20 byte code from your backup file and try it with hdunlock.exe AND hddisable.exe. If that doesn't work try TEAMASSEMBLY as the Master password in atapwd.exe. I think liveinfo can help you determine the User password as well, but don't quote me on that. Start with the 20 byte code like I said though.
