I bought a WD 120gb HDD last year and have been using it in a case as an external hard drive. I currently have quite a bit of backup data stored on it (DVDs) and would like to keep that. If I use this hard drive in my soon-to-be Xbox, would it require some sort of format, or would I be able to keep the data on it?

What's the possibility of just adding this HDD to the stock HDD and switching between the two or something? Would it fit in the Xbox case, or require something more?

(sorry if this sounds newbish, but I learned a lot about modding the Xbox last year and haven't kept up with new trends, so I need to re-learn all this stuff again)

Slayers install disk will do everything you need to prepare the disk for the xbox, but you will lose all of the information on that hard drive. there is no way to keep the info on it except to back it up and ftp it to the xbox once everything is up and running.

slayers will reformat the hdd so you dont have to worry about the current setup on it.

Not worried about the current format on it, but worried about being able to keep the data on it. Anyways, question answered. I'll need to transfer the data to a different hard drive and FTP it back onto the 120gb beast once I get it installed.

Thanks!
