Hey guys. Took back my v1.6 box today with the MFG date of 2004-04-12, and got a new one which I think is v1.4..Just wanna make sure.

Here is the info: Can you guys tell me what version it is?

MFG Date: 2004-03-02
Serial No: 6048395 41005
Product ID: 361 6048395 41005

K: 1.00.5101.01
D: 1.00 5659.03

I just wanna make sure it can be TSOP flashed...I won't be able to open it up to makle sure until tomorrow.

It can be TSOP flashed. Chances are it's a 1.4, but open it up and find out for sure by using the detailed guides.

i agree but if u have a v1.0 or 1.1 then i disagree. TSOP is free, modchip cost money and TSOP is easy, solder 2 points flahs and ur done

Why would a modchip be better? Is the only reason because you can switch it off and play XBOX live? I would think if you are not into XB Live...than TSOP is just easier and cheaper.

What advantages, besides XB live, is their to modchip over TSOP?

if u have a newer 4th gen chip (Xenium, SmartXX, X3 (soon to be out)) you have an OS to let you accomplish different tasks

I don't play XBLive so I flashed my TSOP, [and am flashing his once I get it in th email] and I am very satisfied. I don't think the average user needs a modchip unless they want XBLive.

yeah, but all those tasks can also be easily acomplished through software as well

go TSOP if Live isnt an issue

you can add a switch for 1.0/1.1 tsops so you can use xbox live.
I am using a modchip, but i am intrigued by a TSOP. Seems very very easy and much more reliable.
