Hi im not new to xbox, but i am new to the mame emulators for xbox. My question is, i have mame-0x 0.71.2b installed but over half the roms dont work because i have the mame .83 romset. What im wanting to know is, can any xbox mame emulator support the newest rom set, and if so which one and do i have to compile the pc mame .83 into the xbox mame emulator? thanks!

1 - FBA-XXX supports the newest NeoGeo & CPS roms (nothing other then those)
2 - You can always use Clrmamepro and the correct dat file to convert (a backup) of your mame 0.83 collection to the older state of the xbox mame emu.

ok i have MAMEoX_v0.79.1b_binary.zip now what do i do with this? Do i have to compile it or just run it once on xbox and it will setup automatically? I also have the MAMEoX_v0.79.1b_sources.zip <-- do i need that also? I read the faq that comes with the file but it confuses me and dosent make since on some parts saying " This step is currently unnecessary, as the source distribution includes the
latest supported MAME core."


Also below it says this "XX Unzip MAME 0.67 (or later, this document was written at the time of 0.67) XX into the MAME directory."

Im totally confused?? Do i download mame .79 and extract it to the mame ox.79 folder or what? Please help m blink.gif e my hair is starting to fall out

unzip/unrar the mameox binary file into a dir, then transfer that dir into your emulator dir on the xbox.

then just reboot the xbox and start mameox, then setup the romdir using the mameox menu.

you dont need the source.

ok i have ClrMamePro 3.40b
but i cant seym to figure out what to do to convert the romset to work with MAMEoX_v0.79.1b_binary.zip.Ive read faqs and stuff, but cant seem to find a dat file for mame version 79.1b can anyone point me in the right direction?

download mame 0.79.1b for pc and use clrmamepro to make a dat file out of the exe.

takes a little more work but gives the same result.
