I used 2.5 FINAL... I have yet to text playing game backups or burned games... Not enough hours in the day...

Anyone have an answer to this?

I've Xbox 2 Xbox hotswap over 25 times and I've never had 1 problem EVER!

There isnt much risk if any...

Tutorial is 100% Complete. After three days of revisions and dumbing it down, I think thats as good as it'll get. Soon as I can get my 200 gb drive to work I I may post another tut, although, using xbhdm is pretty easy and there are 100's of tutorials. We'll see blink.gif

If someone can figure out how to get the M$ Dash to work correctly I'll add that to the tutorial...

I tried just updating the path of the dash in the config.ini for evox, but I get an error 21...

Willing to bet it has todo with the renamed fonts directory...

Anyone know a fix for this? I've seen talk about a hex edit, but nothing specific that works

the hex edit IS specific, if you have the original fonts in C:\f0nts, just open up your ms dash xbe in a hex editor and change all occurences of f.o.n.t.s to f.0.n.t.s

Remember to keep a backup because after the hex editing your ms dash won't be ms signed any more tongue.gif

I tried using Hex Workshop and UltraEdit, but they both return 0 instances of "fonts" and "f.o.n.t.s" when I search for that ascii/text string.. What offset should I be looking for

it's fonts in unicode which would be f.o.n.t.s in ASCII - the offsets are different in every version of xboxdash.xbe

so if you are going to use the action replay memory card method opposed to the 2 xbox side by side option would their be any changes to the walkthrough?

i would need a copy of the game save on my action replay and an original version of ma, correct?

ok i think im all set now, one final question tho...do I need a specific save from MA, or can I just use any save that is for the game mechassault?

And once I use the game MA once to complete the hack, do i ever need it again or can i get rid of it, like if i wanted to just rent the game, do the hack, return game.

you need the save hack for mechassault, it's a special save that exploits the game...

i'd recommend you keep mechassault in case anything screws up later down the line. it's a good failsafe if things go wrong.

just went out and got MA...now I just need the exploit save. could somebody point me towards a known download of a working MA exploit save. I dont wanna use one that is faulty or sometin.

i found a few at xbox-saves but are they legit?

You are aware that K:5713 is not a version 1.6 xbox correct? I would hope so, especially when you are attempting to write a tutorial that involves that kind of knowledge. Also it's funny how the people that actually made this happen aren't mentioned in your credits section. No biggie though, we still appreciate your efforts into helping people with the install.
