ok i just bought a ibm travel star 40gb 2.5 inch hdd. and i also bought the converter and i hooked the converter up, and the ide cable wond go in because their are all the pins, it you look at an ide cable it has one of the sides middle pins coverd up. so thus for the ide cable wont fit. how do i get it to connect.

remove the pin from the cable or drill a hole in the converter ... i say remove the pin.
