My settings of my ethernetcard on my xbox are set to 10mbps half duplex.
My transferspeed when ftp-ing is approx. 700 KB/s. Is it possible to change the settings of the ethernetcard of the xbox to Full duplex? |

Depends on your network card. Older ones have a max speed of 10 Mbps ~600K/s. Unless you see an option in your Network cards settings regarding half/full duplex or 10/100 Mbps then it cannot be changed.

If you have a hub or a switch make sure its a 10/100.

The settings would be in your network cards entry in the Device Manager.

I know how to change from half to full duplex on my nic in my pc(use crossover),but is it possible to change the ethernetcard in the XBOX?
If I change to full on my pc,the speed slows down to 6 KB/s,when setting back to half, same as the xbox, the speed goes up mto 700 KB/s. So my question again:I want my NIC of my xbox to FULL,is it possible? Thanks again for the replies and sorry if this is a bit to noobish. |

Im no expert in networking but I have noticed that when i connect my xbox to my pc using a patch cable into my router I connect at half duplex.
however if I connect my pc and xbox directly without the hub (using a crossover cable)then I get the full duplex and transfer speeds are much improved. if youre not already using a crossover cable try that without your hub. |

I am using the crossover cable with 2 nics in my pc....
Guess I have to live with only 700 KB/s Usually I do the FTP-ing at night so it doesn't bother me that much, but tips are still welcome |
