ok, ive searched and couldnt find anything on this, though im sure its been discussed. anyway, im wondering if its possible to copy the contents of a hard drive to another drive directly? the reason im asking is because im going from an 80gb to a 120gb drive and wanna keep my games and saves, etc.

No, because you would have to do a raw copy (PC can't recognise and resize a FATX partition) and the F: partition would not be any larger, leaving the extra 40gb unused.
If you have a PC with large enough capacity, just FTP the contents over, swap the HD and copy it all back again to the new drive. Otherwise, you can do a direct xbox-2-xbox copy if you have access to 2 modded consoles. The Xenium modchip is able to clone/resize a HD on the same xbox.

The easiest thing to do would be to make an Evox disc with an ini with the format options, then ftp to your XBOX, copy the C, E, F and G (if you have one) to your PC, then put your new 120GB drive in the XBOX, format it with the evox disc you made, then ftp your C, E, F and G drive contents back to your XBOX.

That's not entirely True actually, my PC with the help of a Live XBOX Linux Build can read a FatX HDD, I once used Dyne:bolic 1.1 on My PC, it booted fine, and even was able 2 visit sites on the net, play music, you name it, it was all functional, but it couldn't format the drive for him, but he could do that in his XBOX, pop both HDDs into his PC(old and New), boot with a Live Linux, then just copy the Files that way, it would work 2 if his PC can be booted with a Live Linux Build that also Runs on XBOX, also I think File Transfer may be Faster this way then FTP, but I could be wrong
