Hello everyone,

Great community this is. I am proud to be a part of it.

I have learned so much and still am learning so much.

Ok, getting to bussiness. I soft modded my xbox, which had K:5101, don't recall the dash. It worked fine, no problem. this was the first time doing it.

So, my friend wanted his to be soft modded as well (K:4034), so i did the same thing as i did for mine. The modded dash loaded and everything, but when i tried a backup of Need for Speed Underground and Spiderman 2, the games would not work. For the first one, the credit screen comes up, and when i press start to skip it, evox comes up and the disc reloads again. If i let it run, then the screen keeps repeating, ie. looping. For the second game, the machine is unable to read the disc. Gives error. However, backup of Soul Caliber works fine in the machine.

In my maching, Need for speed and Spiderman 2 work without any problem.

I used the tutorial from
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=210108&st=0
to mod my machine.

Any help would be great. I did search the forum, but couldn't really find anything related. There was something about having some stability problem for K:4034 and was talking about having a large zoning, had no clue wat they were talking about.

Thanks alot ppl. you are all wonderful beings. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

It could be a media issue, I doubt it though. Or maybe the DVD Drive is becoming faulty. Why don't you uninstall the hacks you have put in place and use a UDE. This method seems more secure.

Then test you backups make sure they are perfect. No scratches etc.. Try re-burning the games.

Give feedback on how you get on.

hey zookolo

Thanks for the fast reply. I wanted to try the UDE, but the part where it was talking about hex-editing got me off. I have never done any hex editing before, so i did not no how to do it. but i am doing some reading, hopefully, i can figure it out.

with the UDE, the xbox boots directly in the the modded dash right, if i am not mistaken?

And with the hex edited file, should be able to boot the M$ Dash, if necessary right.

Thanks alot.
