I downloaded the surreal 64 emulator for the xbox. Now when i start it up all i get is the surreal 64 menu screen, nothing else. It doesnt list any ROMS. I also tried editing the surreal64.ini file. I changed the locations to where my roms are located, but that didnt really help me.

Anyone care to help?

If you have your roms in a folder called "Roms" in the root of your Surreal install directory you ini file should say this: Rom Path=D:\Roms\

That's the default, but some people try to change the path to F: or whatever. You can do that, but people often just end screwing it up. Your roms should be showing up fine. The only reason I can think they wouldn't is if you have some bad roms and Surreal doesn't recognize them.

After the first time Surreal starts it doesn't seem to use the ini in the program folder.

It creates a new one on E: under those funky numbered folders.. I don't remember the folder number but you can change it there if you find it and the new path should take..

I hope this gets fixed in the furture.

Thraxen is my hero. I have had this problem with surreal for months and never posted anything because I didn't want to get flamed for being dumb. I had tried every ini setting in the world on my F folder!!!!!! Little did I know that surreal put an ini in a jacked up E folder.

Ok Thanks.
I got the icons of the games to appear too. Now i have another problem. I have 3 ROMS. Paper Mario, Mario Tennis, and Mario 64. Now when i go to click on Mario 64 it gives me an option of "1964...Project64...ultra" now i have clicked on each of them as when i do i get a message saying "saving settings" and then it says "loading" with a percentage. Once that happens the screen is black and nothing has loaded. This makes me have to restart the xbox again. Any ideas?

And also its not just mario that it happens to. I've tried with other games and it happens with them too.

only thing that would suck is that the jap n64 boxes are verticle, and not horizontal, so i dont know if the gui would allow using them *unless you dont mind reading sideways.*

anyways, maybe this could be a feature for v3, or v2.5 wink.gif

*or with the help from lantus or oDD_ someone could edit the skin themselves, and share with everyone*
