Alright, this is the second XBOX that I am modding. The first one was modded with the Xecuter 2.3B Lite or whatever, and I did a pin header installation and everything went great. I also have a Philips drive in that one. It was a new version of the XBOX too.

Now, I have a crappy v1.0, with a Thomson drive. I had to do a wire installation (again, Xecuter), and I *think* it went ok, cuz I got the Cromwell screen upon booting up. I downloaded the BIOS (same one as the last time), and the DVD drive seemed to be working fine.

The next step is supposed to be to run the Evolution X boot disk, right? I'm using the same ISO file as I did before (burned to DVD media). But the disk isn't booting up....

My chip settings are at Enable, Unprotected, Bank 1. This setting boots up the regular xboxdash by default (is that supposed to happen?) It does say "Xecuter2" at the flubber startup though...

But then it gets a disk read error. It won't read my Evox boot disk.

I even tried swapping the Thompson drive with the Philips drive from my first XBOX, but still got the same error.

So, is the type of media I'm using my problem, or is it something else? Thanks for the help.

Yes. I used a Memorex RW to boot up my first XBOX, and I tried it for the second one as well. Still no luck...
