Mxm.xml, nothing changes Options

i've been able to install ude2 with the mem card installer and now i have mxm. i ftped my xbox and edited the mxm.xml and menu.xml, i just wanted to see if change could be made so i changed some of the title name and it still stayed the same, also i tried applying new skins by editing the mxm.xml, but nothing happened, the configuration was still default. i searched the forum but couldn't find a solution. sorry for asking this...gome ne~!
