This is wicked, saved me a lot of trouble. I tried to solder a wire between the two points in slushie's guide but the ended up pulling the track off - this is much much better.

Amen

Does your xbox boot normal? If it does try the Alt points and retry to flash.

Good Luck

it doesn't matter what side of the board, just as long as you bridge red to blue and sky blue to yellow. just make sure to only bridge them once.

btw this is the best thread ever and most def deserves a pin

I have a simular problem. I have a version 1.2 - 1.5 xbox, messed up on the bottom and undid one of the traces so I found alternate points. but now the xbox boots but will not recognize games, gives me a dirty disk error. replaced the drive with a working one from my other xbox but still get the dirty disk error. anyone have any ideas?

I know I'm reviving an old post, but damn... I thought I'll come back and thank davicoro for helping me find this alternative points.

I fixed, retraced and soldered my friends Matix modchip on his old 1.0 MoBo... but the d0 was so damn small I was having a hard time trying to solder it, even with the flux.

It worked like a charm on the alternate points.

My kudos to you davicoro!

So wait...
Can I join yellow/sky blue right below R7R3 instead of joining R7R4 with C7R3 on a 1.1 box?

I'm confused...

I wish I knew that before I dissected a mouse cable to get a wire to connect R7R4 with C7R3.

Oh well, it was a dead mouse anyways...

This tutorial will be great for people who mess up TSOP solder jobs. I saved it all incase any of my friends start doing TSOP jobs. They are too eager and I can see them messing up at least once. Anyway nice work beerchug.gif

just look at the pictures, you have to link the 2 sets of colors, if you choose all points on the top of the baord thats all you need, if you choose point son top and on bottom then you have to top and bottom
