i was doing a chip on a v 1.6 everthying was going ok after a few minor bumps but i finally got the chip in then poered the chip then it booted to the m8 bios so i put the hard drive in and the dvd in put all the screws in then i press power and nothing, but the chip still powers on when it gets pluged in and the power supply fuse is still good but it is dead for good i think?

it sounds like something is not properly grounded, check all your connections.

and i know this sounds stupid, but make sure that your eject panel is plugged in properly

yeah the eject panel is good bad grounding could be the answer maybe because it is a v1.6 mobo in a v1.0 case and it dosnt fit 100% corectlly

yeah, the cases were slightly different, try taking out that metal sheild (if you havent already) that might be causing something to ground that shouldnt be.

what chip did you use? i wonder if when you did the lpc rebuild that is necissary for the 1.6, when you screw the motherboard down some wires get connected/disconnected or something like that.
